How to Screen Record and Screenshot on a Chromebook
How to Screen Record on a Chromebook:
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + Overview (The button right above the 6 key).
- A menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select the record button.
- Select the "Record Full Screen" option.
- Press anywhere on the screen to start recording. A countdown timer will appear. Once it reaches zero, it will start capturing video of whatever’s on-screen. A red recording icon will display in the taskbar while the recording is in progress.
- Click the Stop button to end the recording.
Additional information to note:
- You can select to record the whole screen, a selected part of the screen, or one tab.
- You can select the settings button after pressing Ctrl + Shift + Overview to audio recording on or off.
- The recording will automatically save locally to your Chromebook.
How to Screenshot on a Chromebook:
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + Overview (The button right above the 6 key).
- A menu will appear and it will already be prepared to take a screen shot.
- Drag and select the area that you want to screenshot.
- After selecting your area, click the "Capture" button that appears in the middle of your screenshot.
- The screenshot will then be saved locally to your Chromebook.
Additional information to note:
- After pressing Ctrl + Shift + Overview, you have the option to take a screen shot of an entire tab or the entire screen.
